Mike Dowsett has been working in and around motor vehicles for most of his life and has gained a large amount of experience during this time. For a brief period he was a mechanic in Formula 3 racing and rubbed shoulders with Ross Brawn (famous as the Technical Director for Ferrari's F1 Team between 1997 and 2006 and now team principal at Honda F1) while working for March. He has also worked for John Surtess in Formula 1.
Mike has always been involved with motor sport and has raced a Hillman Imp (pictured right) since 1991. In 1996 and then in 1998 he was the BARC CTCRC Historic Touring Car Champion. From 2002 he has competed with the 'Top Hat Historic' which in the winter of 2006/7 became the 'The Masters Top Hat Series' racing in the UK and Europe with Chimay and Spa (in Belgium) being two of Mike's favourite racing circuits.
More recently you may have seen him at the Goodwood 2007 Revival
Meeting looking after a BMW 1800 for Mr. Roger Cope in the 'St.Marys
Trophy' race with guest driver and touring car champ David Leslie.
